Strengthening the knowledge base of the Dutch plant cultivation industry is the mission of TTI GG, an initiative of the Dutch cultivation sector. Through closer cooperation with research and education institutions, the sector seeks to improve the knowledge infrastructure and promote capacity building. And that is most definitely required, as although the Netherlands still holds a prominent position in the international cultivation industry, its competitive lead is increasingly coming under threat.
Critical mass is essential to turn the tide, a process in which TTI GG will play a crucial role. With a total budget of € 40 million for the coming four years, TTI GG will support joint research projects by companies and knowledge institutions, and make a contribution to new initiatives in the field of education. Plant genetics, plant physiology and plant pathology are core areas of attention for TTI GG. Project Proposals are to contribute to a stronger knowledge base for all parties in the sector.
